Volunteers at TWRC Wildlife Center are the backbone of our organization. They supply the force behind our mission to rehabilitate, release and educate the public. We are always inspired by our volunteers’ devotion to the community responsibility of caring for our Texas wildlife.
Our volunteers have a unique opportunity here at TWRC. They get to be a part of an organization that established the first wildlife emergency facility in Houston, which has admitted over 392 different species. Over the years, our seasoned volunteers and staff have acquired a great deal of knowledge, experience, and are eager to share with individuals who want to join our mission to help wildlife. Volunteers leave here having the knowledge and ability to help any injured or orphaned wild animal they may encounter.
They are many ways to volunteer at TWRC Wildlife Center including:
Become a Volunteer
TWRC Volunteers help staff the center and complete the day-to-day functions including daily chores, caring for ambassador animals, running the admission desk, caring for the animals in our onsite Animal Care Program, working with our education team and much more.
Group & Scout Projects
Here at TWRC, we welcome all types of group projects from corporate volunteer days to scout service projects. Groups can come work a day in the center and help with many onsite tasks.
School Credit Program
The School Credit Program is designed for those volunteers who are with educational institutes in which TWRC Wildlife Center has a partnership with. The Program allows students to earn credit hours for different types of volunteer opportunities
