Who doesn’t love carving a pumpkin for Halloween? Instead of trashing them after Halloween, recycle them for wildlife. Make sure you only recycle pumpkins that haven’t been painted or decorated with items that can harm wildlife.
- Many animals will eat pumpkin. Just cut it in pieces and throw it around your yard.
- Save the seeds for the birds. Dry out the seeds by putting them in the oven set at 180 degrees for ten minutes. Once cooled, break them up in little pieces and put them in your feeder. You can even mix the pieces in with your regular bird seed.
