Sydney has 37 years’ experience in corporate, partnership, and individual taxation.  She began her career at the global accounting firm Deloitte and progressed to corporate tax departments in large corporations after ten years.   Sydney has extensive knowledge in all phases of energy, oil and gas, and manufacturing industries (income tax, sales tax, international tax, property tax, etc.).  Most recently she worked on extensive complex IRS audits and property tax appeals/litigation.

Since leaving the corporate tax world in 2017, Sydney began pursuing her passion of helping animals.  She began volunteering in the Animal Care Program at TWRC and is the Wise Owl on Tuesdays at TWRC.  Additionally, she occasionally assists in TWRC’s Education Outreach program as she feels educating people on the benefits and proper care of animals is increasingly important as our habitats continue to overlap.

She is a Certified Public Accountant, is Treasurer of Ashford United Methodist Church, and enjoys reading and chamber music.  Sydney holds a Master in Accounting from Rice University. She is eager to work with the Board and staff in promoting the TWRC mission with the Houston business community.
